Let’s be honest— walking in for your first ever IV drip appointment is not always easy. For starters, anything involving a needle can feel a little daunting, even if it’s part of your wellness journey. That hesitation is completely normal ! This being said, we hope that once you understand the process of an IV drip session and how it works, you can feel a little more at ease and even look forward to your body’s betterment.
Get to know what really happens during your first IV session, and why it’s not as scary as it might seem.

What the Process Looks Like

Personalised Consultation

Your session starts with a one-on-one chat with one of our healthcare providers. This is your chance to tell us how you’ve been feeling, what brought you in, and what you’d like to get out of your session. We’ll also ask about your health history to recommend the most suitable drip for you, whether that’s energy, immunity, hydration, or something else.

Careful Preparation

Once we’ve agreed on the best plan, your drip is prepared in a clean, sterile environment. Each bag is made fresh with the right combination of fluids, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to suit your needs.

Getting Comfortable

Next, you’ll settle into one of our comfortable chairs. Feel free to bring your headphones or a book to enjoy during the session, or tell us if you need anything else, such as dimmer lighting, a blanket, or even sensory toys. We’ll place a tourniquet on your arm, clean the area, and gently insert the catheter or small needle. Most people say it feels like a quick pinch, similar to a blood test.

Relax during Your Session

Once the drip starts, sit back and relax. Some people feel a cool sensation in their arm or a slight metallic taste, which are both totally normal and temporary. The session can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on what you’re having. We’ll also check on you regularly to make sure you’re comfortable.

Aftercare Tips

After your drip, you’re free to carry on with your day. Make sure to drink plenty of water and avoid heavy exercise or alcohol for the rest of the day so your body can make the most of the nutrients.

Why There’s No Need to Be Nervous

We get it; the idea of a drip can feel a little daunting at first. But here’s the thing: most people say it’s much easier and more relaxing than they expected. The part people feel most nervous about is usually moments before the small needle is inserted, and the rest feels like a breeze. You’re in good hands with experienced healthcare providers who’ll walk you through every step. Remember that you can always share if you need anything to help you be more comfortable during your session. Most clients also agree that they leave feeling refreshed and accomplished for taking care of themselves.
